Property & Casualty Underwriter Level III

We support our Members with insurance coverage and risk management services so they can focus on their mission – educating our children. CSDSIP seeks a Level III property and casualty Underwriter to provide outstanding customer service and account management to our public-school Members throughout the State of Colorado.

 

This is a senior Underwriting position on our Underwriting Team responsible for handling an assigned selection of Members as well as mentoring more junior underwriters.

 

Specific Responsibilities Include:

• Daily servicing of assigned Members’ needs – answering coverage questions, processing endorsement requests, etc.;

• Annual renewal rating and processing of assigned Members;

• Meeting with Members to review coverage, risks, and exposures;

• Underwriting property and liability policies;

• Identifying and presenting risk financing and transfer recommendations;

• Leading underwriting discussions and reviews;

• Interpreting and analyzing technical insurance documents;

• Reviewing and analyzing contracts;

• Creating and delivering presentations;

• Mentoring junior underwriters;  

• Researching emerging exposures and programs related to coverage and risk; and

• In-state travel up to 15 overnight stays per year.

 

Qualifications:

• 8-10 years commercial property and casualty underwriting and marketing experience;

• Thorough knowledge of property and liability policy/coverage language;

• Batchelor’s degree or equivalent experience;

• Colorado Resident Producer’s License for Casualty & Property is required within 90 days;

• Valid drivers license and clean driving record;

• Ability to work independently, and manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks;

• Demonstrated initiative; and detail-oriented;

• Superior customer service and oral and written communication skills;

• Proficiency in Microsoft suite of products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;

• Experience with underwriting school exposures preferred;

• CPCU, CIC, AU or other professional designation preferred;

• Prior team leader/mentor experience preferred.

Level III Salary range: $ 95,402 – 128,791
